What should I do at the scene?
Get the car off the road if you can do it safely, turn on the hazards, and stay buckled until you are out of traffic. Photograph all four corners, the point of impact, and the road. Then decide if it is safe to drive. If it is not, arrange a tow and call us so we know it is coming.
Is it driveable or should I tow it?
If fluid is dripping, if a headlight or the hood is loose, if the radiator is hissing, or if a wheel is rubbing, tow it. Coolant loss alone can kill an engine in a few miles. When in doubt, send us a photo and we will tell you honestly.
What hidden damage is common after hitting a deer?
Radiator supports, condenser fins, hood latches, headlight brackets, washer reservoirs, and the little plastic tabs that hold everything together. The fan shroud and cooling lines are easy to miss, and they are exactly what fails first on the drive home. That is why we pull the bumper cover before we quote.
What happens if the airbags went off?
Airbag deployment means sensors, seatbelt pretensioners, and the module all get inspected, and several of those parts are one-time use. We go through the full restraint system before any panel work, because a car that looks fixed but has a disabled airbag is not actually fixed.
Can you get parts for an older truck?
Usually yes, though it can take more calls. OEM is often still available for popular trucks, and quality used or remanufactured pieces fill in when it is not. We tell you up front what the parts picture looks like so you can decide how you want to proceed.
Do I call insurance first, or come to you?
Either order works. You can get our estimate first and decide whether to open a claim, or start the claim and bring us what you have. If you are not sure which makes sense, call and we will talk it through.
Can I bring in the estimate from my insurance?
Yes. Bring it in and we will go through it with you before any work starts, so everyone is working from the same page.
Do you work with my insurance company?
